Letters of Support

Heyo! I made a video about how to ethically provide assessment letters for folks who need surgical interventions. I was super happy to show this, rather than shake and blush with nerves, during TransPride YOUnited’s 2023 behavioral health-track conference schedule – and I was thrilled to present an improved and revised version at WMCHA’s Weaving Connections conference in May 2026. The newer version’s below 🙂

(If you’re a counselor looking to just steal my assessment letter template, scroll through to 47:25, or email me.)

(If you’re working at the office of a plastic surgeon and you’re worried that the letter you received from me might’ve been plagiarized from here… it likely wasn’t; I’m nearing 300 accepted letters of support; but please feel very free to email me with any questions or concerns, ok? I get it!)

This is amazing work and a wonderful history lesson, Moira. Thank you. I was thrilled to learn about historical brothers, sisters, and sibs whom I was not yet familiar with. And thank you for your cogent, common sense response to politicized “gender exploration psychotherapy” and “watchful waiting” propaganda.

This is a good amount of information and history — enough to build real confidence and breadth of knowledge for clinicians. It’s also entertaining, and it genuinely pulls on one’s sense of empathy. It’s the perfect piece of “propaganda” to help stop gatekeeping.

Thank you for this. I’ve been so afraid to write these letters, just not knowing where to begin. Now I know what to do, and I will be adding this to my practice.

Excellent, excellent, EXCELLENT. I learned so much in this 90 min session. I feel like this should be required education for every clinician.

Shitty presentation, narration is not a presentation. No mention of intersectionality. Felt like a youtube video. Speaker speak too fast too.
