Rumore Forte Soundbaths

Soundbaths for people who are a little suspicious of soundbaths

A 36″ gong hand-hammered in Germany. Five crystal singing bowls. A Koshi chime, a coast drum, and about forty-five minutes in which nobody will ask you to set an intention unless you want to.

I bring the instruments. You bring a room and some people willing to lie down in it. (And maybe some chairs in case folks prefer that.)

What actually happens

You come in and get comfortable, usually lying down on a mat. Eye masks are available and entirely optional. I say a few words about what you might notice and what you’re free to do about it — shift, sit up, keep your eyes open, leave without explaining yourself. I treat you to a brief meditation focused on PNW nature imagery and permission-offering; you take what you need and I hope you leave the rest. Anyway, then I play.

Most people report the noise in their head getting quieter. A pal told me the gong makes it harder to follow mean thoughts about yourself. Some feel the gong in their sternum, some in their noses. A lot of people drift in-between meditative wakefulness and sleep (which is not a failure of concentration but the actual point). There is no wrong way to relax during a soundbath!

At the end I bring you back slowly, with a chime I walk around the room, and then I shut up for a while so you can come to on your own schedule.

No lecture. No crystals arranged on your body. No claims about your chakras.

Where I play

I come to you — offices, studios, retreat centers, living rooms, clubs.

Soundbaths work well…

  • as a corporate wellness event that isn’t another lunchtime webinar
  • inside a therapeutic or wellness workshop day
  • at the end of a team offsite, when everyone is fried
  • as an add-on to an EMDR couples retreat – or a psychedelic integration workshop??
  • to jumpstart a meditation program that’s gone stale
  • layered under a candlelit yin class
  • at your goopy bestie’s equinox party (genuinely, these are some of my favorites)
  • Surprising your bestie at their accountability circle ritual — jk, do not do this. Ask your pal about scheduling and intentions, please.
  • following a one-time screening of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with added panic via “tingler” seats à la William Castle, at Hearst Castle, movie at sunset, sound bath by the Roman pool. I know it sounds nuts-o, but, trust me, it’s gonna be way too much!

Tell me where to go and whether your people are okay or not with a woodsy scented candle or if you’d really love me to burn some palo santo – or not. I handle the rest.

Booking

Private and organizational sessions are quoted individually — group size, room, and travel all move the number. Reach out with your date and rough headcount and I’ll come back with a flat fee, not a per-person rate.

Public sliding-scale sessions are listed here.

Community Nonprofits: I give away one full session a year, valued at $450, to organizations doing work I believe in. You cover my instruments’ cab fare — $50 inside the old Fareless Square, $100 if you’re about a 30 minute drive from downtown.

Training

I trained at the Soundbath Center in Los Angeles under Jamie Bechtold, and I’ve been facilitating in Portland since 2025 — at Friendly House, New Renaissance Bookshop, Portland State University, with Families Like Ours’s semi-annual retreats, a dojo or two, and in a bunch of east-side living rooms.

My background is in group facilitation, and it shows in how I run a room: a lot of attention to consent, exits, and the fact that lying still for forty-five minutes is genuinely hard for some bodies. I run therapeutic-style soundbaths rather than performance-style ones. If you want an ethereal vocal experience, Portland has people who do that beautifully and I’ll happily point you to them 🙂

Rumore Forte is a separate practice from my clinical work. A soundbath is not therapy, and attending one does not create a therapeutic relationship.

What People Are Saying

I arrived buzzing with high energy and no prior experience with a sound bath. It took me a minute to settle, but before I knew it, I was in a deep meditative state. Then, gently, we were brought back. A beautiful experience. Thank you.

Aimee

This came at a particularly chaotic moment in life. Thank you for the opportunity to pause, breathe, and recalibrate.

Karee

Wonderful, magical, and deeply relaxing.

Anya

I didn’t realize how much tension I was holding in my mid-body until it softened during the sound bath. Thank you! Much needed!

Sara

I felt echoes of myself, like being in a tunnel. The sound vibration felt intense at first, but over time, I became less aware of it. My body and mind relaxed deeply.

M.H.

So relaxing… now I just want to go to sleep 🙂

Gift Cards

Heyo! Did my friend Kayla suggest you might purchase a one-time gift card for a soundbath? Doooo it! If you’re not clear on how many neighbors might join you, make me a guess — you plus five? — and I’ll modge-podge you something gorgeous you can gift.

Not Even the Same Thing as an In-Person Sound Bath:
